Bolton Wanderers have handed a trial to 26-year old defender Kodjo Afanou who plays for Bordeaux, and they will assess the player during the next week at the club's Euxton training ground.
Togo-born Afanou (pictured) was a member of the Bordeaux team who won the La Championatt title in 1999 and has made just under 200 appearances in eight seasons at the Stade Lescure.
He has also spent some time out on loan with Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain and his availability had alerted the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce who is keen to take a look at the player.
"Afanou is on trial and we will have a good look at him. He is a quality defender and is available. He won the French championship with Bordeaux in the 1998/1999 season and is keen to play in the Premiership" he said
