Bolton Wanderers full back Anthony Barness has joined Division One Play Off hopefuls West Ham United on a months loan.
The 30-year old defender is a former team mate of the Hammers manager Alan Pardew during their time with Charlton Athletic and a move back to his London roots will enable the reliable defender to get some regular first team football again having only made two Premiership starts all season. It is not yet clear whether the move is just a temporary measure or whether the player would eventually move to the club he supported as a boy permanently.
Barness joined Bolton in the summer of 2000 from the Addicks and has made well over 80 appearances during the time he has been at the Reebok Stadium. He has also served Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Southend United during his career.
