Allardyce is odds on favourite to replace Sven Goran Eriksson when the Swede quits at the end of the World Cup this summer, and whilst he is flattered, he isn’t taking too much notice of it.
"Of course being the bookies' favourite is something I really do appreciate as it seems to be from the people's point of view," said Allardyce.
"I want to be quiet about it and get on with my job at Bolton and not let anything detract from that. The speculation has been a distraction, especially this week. Now it is time to move on."
Meanwhile, Allardyce has been charged with improper conduct by the FA following comments he made about referee Mike Riley after the recent game with Blackburn Rovers.
