Big Sam pleased with draw

The goalless draw at St. Mary's lifted Wanderer's out of the bottom three and above West Ham on goal difference meaning a home win over Middlesbrough next Saturday will guarentee Premiership football at the Reebok next season regardless of results elsewhere.

"We've had a magnificent result here, as good as some of the wins we've had," the Bolton boss said after 0-0 draw with the Saints.

"That makes it three draws in a row but West Ham have made us go all the way to the last game.

"I thought we would have been safe a while ago, but West Ham have had a fantastic run with three successive 1-0 wins since we beat them and you've got to give them a lot of credit.

"When we heard they had won today it was a huge pressure on the players and it told in the first half, but they came through it magnificently.

"Our keeper made two good saves and we didn't create much although Henrik Pedersen could have won it for us with a simple volley.

"But we have come out of it well and I would love to see us stay up again and keep these players we have on board. We might even be able to add a few and start the season well."
