Bolton boss Sam Allardyce was full of praise for his side after watching them beat Newcastle 2-0 on Tuesday evening.
"Within the space of one minute tonight we could have been 1-0 down," conceded Allardyce.
"Thankfully Gary Speed put himself in a great position and saved the goal - the old head with the experience helped and from there we went from strength to strength.
"In the end we really controlled the game. We bombarded Everton at the weekend and this time we were more probing.
"We waited and became a bit more patient. They didn't get quite as many back as Everton and we exposed that when Hunt got a great ball in the box for the first goal.
"Getting the first clean sheet is important for me and looking at the overall display, where we've had a tremendous performance and come away with three points."
