Allardyce rapped: "He signed a three-year contract with us, so we will decide if we sell him or not.
"I am not concerned by something silly he said, simply that he should not have said it. He made a mistake.
"He has ambition and has had for years, but he did not need to air it publicly. He wants to do more and achieve more, that's what he was expressing but it came out the wrong way."
"It read like he wanted to leave the club, which he doesn't.
"Ultimately though, I am not worried about my players looking at bigger clubs. They are all contracted to us, so they are going nowhere unless I say so."
Meanwhile, Bolton are close to completing contract negotiations with goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, which have gone on for 12 months.
Manager Sam Allardyce said, "The deal with Jussi is very close now. I would have thought it will be done by the back end of this week or the beginning of next at the latest.
"Jussi is one of the players whose value has escalated by being here and they know it, which makes negotiations very difficult.
"We have got on with it the best we can but this has been the longest of the lot."
