The 49-year old becomes only the second manager in Wanderers history to take the club to a League Cup Final and is relishing the prospect of leading out the club he has been associated with for so many years at the Millennium Stadium next weekend.
Allardyce will be hoping to go one better than Bruce Rioch who lead the side to the 1995 Coca Cola Cup Final where they lost out narrowly to a Liverpool side inspired by Steve McManaman on the sunshone Wembley turf.
