Bolton Wanderers have secured the services of Senegal international midfielder Khalilou Fadiga on a contract which will run until the end of the current season with a further option of an extension.
The 29-year old is able to move to the Reebok Stadium outside the transfer window as he was without a club at the time of the transfer deadline earlier on this month.
Fadiga has more recently been registered in Italy with Inter Milan but a heart defect meant that he was unable to play a single for the Italian giants, a condition which fortunately has now been given the all clear allowing the African to resume his career in England.
The player has also has spells with Red Star Paris, RFC Liege, Club Brugge and most notably a stint at Auxerre, the club where he effectively made his name on the European stage.
"It will be good to have him on the front line when he gets fit which should be in about four to six weeks," Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce told the Bolton Evening News.
Allardyce is also said to have now dropped his interest in signing the World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit who is a free agent after leaving Chelsea at the end of last season.
