Klasnic has sevens goals in all competitions this season after scoring in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, yet has not started a single Barclays Premier League game during the campaign.
No 1 striker: Bolton Wanderers' Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic has scored seven times this season
Coyle has no doubts about the Croatia international's finishing, but feels Klasnic needs to work harder if he is to become more than just an impact substitute for league matches.
'I've said many times about Ivan - he's a goalscorer,' Coyle told the Bolton News. 'But sometimes it takes more than just scoring goals to play every game, and he knows that. That's a chat we've had and he knows the harder he works the more chances he'll get.
Support: Coyle has backed Klasnic to do more to earn a starting place
'We're not an elite club that dominates games. We need every one of our players working their socks off and I think when Ivan does that, there's no doubt we'll have a very good team and that's where he has to improve.'?
