However, Chelsea defender Ashley Cole expects Sturridge to return to Stamford Bridge, and is tipping the striker to make a positive impact after his spell with the Trotters.

'Hopefully when he comes back next season he'll see more opportunities and bang goals in for us like he has done for Bolton,' said the England international.
