Wanderers knocked out the holders Liverpool 3-2 in a thrilling game at Anfield whilst the Saints defeated arch rivals Portsmouth 2-0 in the live televised clash at St Mary's Stadium last night.
It is the third time in the clubs history which they have progressed in the competition, in 1977 they reached the Semi Finals before being dumped out by Everton in the replay whilst in 1995 they went all the way to the final before losing out to Liverpool. Three years ago they where beaten in the Semi Final by the eventual losing finalists Tranmere Rovers.
