Bolton Wanderers have been drawn against Nationwide League Division One side Gillingham in the Carling Cup third round which will take place at the Reebok Stadium in the final week of October.
The game will mark a return to the club for two of our former players as both Rod Wallace and Nicky Southall now play their football at the Preistfield Stadium and the Gills will be hoping to cause an upset against Premiership opposition and have a giantkilling pedigree in recent seasons so a visit by the Kent side will be no easy task.
In 1999 Bolton won both games in the then Worthington Cup winning 4-1 at Preistfield and 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium but the league games which both ended in draws the following season showed that Andy Hessenthaler's team are very hard to beat.
The game is expected to take place on the week commencing the 27th October 2003, further details will be made available as soon as they are announced.
