The Wanderers boss has seen his side gain nine points from twelve during the first month of the season and beleives this is all down to him having an unchanged side and being able to call upon an experienced Premiership line up.
"Keeping an unchanged team has been hugely important, When I look at the team we want to start the season with, I always want the one with the most Premiership experience.
"This summer, for the first time since we got promoted four years ago, I felt that no matter who came in from abroad, it was unlikely they were going to get into my opening starting line-up.
So far Allardyce has only had to use two of his foreign imports on a regular basis in the shape of Julio Cesar and Radhi Jaidi with other continental additions such as Fernando Hierro and Tal Ben-Haim having to settle for cameo roles on the substitutes bench.
"As it turned out, there was one new addition in Julio Cesar and then another to replace him in Radhi Jaidi but other than that, the players without Premiership experience have only been used as substitutes.
"That means the players know what is needed. There are no surprises and we are not frightened by anyone, including Manchester United."
