The 21-year old FC Porto player, currently on loan at Vitoria Guimareas impressed a number of scouts when appearing for the Portuguese U21 team against England last week and a number of Premiership teams including ourselves, Birmingham City, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly shown an interest in the player.
Alves joined Vitoria in the summer and becomes the second player to move from Porto to their 1 Liga rivals following the succesful loan stint of fellow defender Rubens Junior who has spent the last nine months on loan away from the Estadio do Dragao.
