The morning press has once again linked Bolton Wanderers with a move for out of contract Chilean defender Jorge Vargas after yesterdays news that Florent Laville will be sidelined for up to six months with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Vargas 27, left Italian side Reggina in the summer after three years in Italy following his decision not to accept the fresh terms which where offered to him and was linked to the Wanderers prior to the signing of Emerson Thome from Sunderland and it is thought that the player could be once again a target for the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce following the injury to Laville in Saturday's win over Middlesbrough.

The player himself has expressed a desire to come to England and has held meetings in London with various clubs to try and get himself fixed up over in England with Southampton and ourselves taking particular interest in the player.
