Bolton have missed out on a money spinning trip to the Far East this summer because of their placing in the league earlier on this month.
The Premier League handed out special invites to participate in this year's Asia Cup to the clubs who where in 1st, 7th and 13th in the table after the games played on 1st February.
Charlton sat one point and one place above the Trotters at that time and will join Everton and Newcastle United in the tournament which takes place in mid-July.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all declined the proposals hence the reason why Everton are included amongst the English clubs involved. Each competing club stands to net £500,000 for their participation in the competition.
