The 19-year old Dutchman has found opportunities limited since moving to Belgium but has had previous experience with Ajax Amsterdam and has recently been back to his homeland to undergo trials with Feyenoord.
MacDonald is just one of a dozen players whom Sam Allardyce has brought in on a temporary basis during the summer months, whether the teenager has the application and desire to earn a deal amongst England's elite remains to be seen.
