Wanderers have confirmed a two-year deal with the pay-day loan company.
QuickQuid - replacing online bookmakers 118BET, whose deal with the Trotters expires this summer - will have its logo on Bolton's matchday and training kit and will also be involved in club-run initiatives across the community.
The news has raised concerns about what knock-on effects the partnership might have in terms of people getting into debt, and the Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau has offered to consult the npower Championship outfit on the matter.
Richard Wilkinson, chief executive of Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau, told Press Association Sport: "The issue with pay-day lenders is one where it is more than just about a name on a football shirt - the issue goes a lot wider than that, and particularly in a place like Bolton. I was slightly surprised to see that choice of sponsor.
"The problems that pay-day loans can cause to the clients we see is something that we have a level of concern about, and we think that potentially, something like this may actually make the position worse because it gives these companies some sort of credibility, bringing them into the mainstream."
Having been contacted by Press Association Sport for comment on the matter, Bolton said they would not be adding to the original statement in which the news of the partnership had been announced.
In that statement, Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside said: "We are excited to welcome QuickQuid as our new principal partner. In our discussions it became obvious very quickly that both parties wanted to develop a partnership that engaged with all elements of the football club and community, and as much as anything else, to bring some real fun to matchdays."
It also included quotes from QuickQuid head of partnerships Greg Hohnstein, who said: "We are delighted to be working with Bolton Wanderers over the next two seasons - and possibly longer. We were immediately impressed by the evident passion of the club and its supporters. We are excited to be part of a strong partnership as it develops over this period to help bring success on the pitch, and positive results and opportunities in the wider community."
QuickQuid were not available for additional comment when Press Association Sport attempted to make contact with them.
