Bolton V Huddersfield at Reebok Stadium - Match Preview

Mason set for Bolton bow

Joe Mason could make his first Bolton start when Dougie Freedman's side entertain Huddersfield.

The Cardiff loanee's debut only came from the bench in the 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough as Freedman elected not to alter a side unbeaten in eight games.

With more attacking intent required at home against a side four points ahead of them, though, the versatile forward Mason could be used from the start.

A series of niggling injuries continue to cast doubt over Craig Davies' availability again while Adam Bogdan, Marc Tierney, Mark Davies, Joe Riley and Stuart Holden remain long-term absentees.

Huddersfield boss Mark Robins is expected to name an unchanged line-up as his side chase a third straight league win.

Robins has no new injury or suspension worries and is unlikely to make any changes to the side that halted Burnley's 12-match unbeaten run at the weekend.

Town will still be without skipper Peter Clarke, sidelined until February with knee ligament damage, while midfielder Keith Southern is closing in on a return to the squad following his latest calf injury.

Winger Danny Ward and defender Calum Woods are among those pushing for recalls as Huddersfield bid to make up further ground on the play-off places.
