Bolton V Hull at Reebok Stadium - Match Preview

Alonso set for Trotters comeback

Marcos Alonso is poised to return when Bolton host host high-flying Hull in the npower Championship.

Alonso sat out Wanderers' 1-1 midweek draw against Derby as he served a one-match ban for his red card against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Sam Ricketts is expected to make way for the Spaniard at left-back, while boss Dougie Freedman could shuffle his options in attack once again after conceding Craig Davies and David Ngog appeared jaded during the closing stages at Pride Park.

Ngog remains at the centre of transfer speculation concerning a possible move to Dynamo Kiev, despite assurances offered by one of his representatives, and Marvin Sordell and Kevin Davies could return to lead the line.

Midfielder Keith Andrews (thigh/Achilles) remains a doubt, while defender Matt Mills is stepping up his rehabilitation from a thigh problem.

George Boyd could make his Hull debut. The striker joined on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season and could go straight into the squad.

Republic of Ireland international Paul McShane is expected to miss a further two weeks with a hamstring injury he picked up during last weekend's win over Charlton.

Striker Sone Aluko, who has not featured since mid-January due to an Achilles problem, is likely to require surgery after feeling discomfort on his return to training.

He has been given two weeks rest to see if the problem sorts itself, but will go under the knife if the issue persists.

Al Ahly loanee Gedo will be looking to score for the fourth consecutive game but defender Abdoulaye Faye continues to miss out with a calf problem.
