"I am worried because I haven't been given the chances I expected for playing in England," Borgetti told Mediotiempo.
"I have been predominantly sitting on the bench and playing only a few minutes in some games.
"I think that I have had some good performances because I have scored some goals, but I need to play more frequently because I want to be prepared for the World Cup."
It would appear that Borgetti is keen on a return home, with Chivas waiting in the wings to secure his signature.
"I don't care in which team I play for in Mexico, I can wear any shirt, it is all the same.
"All I want to do is to have the chance to play and keep scoring goals because that is all I know how to do."
Mexico coach Ricardo Lavolpe has backed Borgetti to move on in January.
"I am aware about Borgetti's situation in England and I must say that I am worried because he is one of the most important players of the Mexican national team," said Lavolpe.
"He scored 14 goals for Mexico in the qualifiers and we need him to keep in that rhythm for the World Cup.
"If his English team is not going to use him they could give him a loan deal to any Mexican team who would welcome him with open arms."
Mexican giants Chivas are reportedly chasing Borgetti.
Chivas owner, Jorge Vergaga, revealed: "We are hoping he will be our big acquisition in the New Year which will also help him to be in better shape to play for Mexico in the World Cup in Germany."
