Diouf has found a new lease of life with the Lancashire club since joining them for the 2004-2005 season last August and Allardyce says that he wants to sign the African striker but a number of factors have to be considered first.
"Dioufy has been one of our best players this year. He's back on the goal trail, before he came to us he had hardly scored a goal in two years," said Bolton manager Allardyce
"He wants to stay, which is the first obstacle overcome, The second obstacle is more difficult (money)".
"If he keeps scoring and applying the pressure then we have the obligation to clinch the deal if we can. At the end of the day we can only afford what we can afford. Hopefully that will be enough to get him, but we'll wait and see."
