Former Bolton Wanderers winger Nicky Summerbee has joined up with Burnley on a trial basis as the Clarets manager Stan Ternant looks to add to his squad which was depeleted during the summer having released 13 players.
Summerbee who is perhaps best known for his time at Manchester City and Sunderland as well as spells with Swindon Town, ourselves and Nottingham Forest returns to Lancashire following his release from Leicester City at the end of last season.
The 32-year old former England U21 international joined Bolton from the Black Cats in January 2001 but failed to sufficiently impress manager Sam Allardyce making only 12 appearances and scoring once, he later moved back to City in the summer of 2001 for a short spell before joining Forest and later Leicester City on short term deals
