Kevin Davies is the man that Tottenham Hotspur want as soon as the transfer window opens in January according to a report in today's Daily Mirror newspaper.

It has been suggested that the Bolton forward is high on Spurs list of transfer targets for the New Year as manager Jacques Santini looks to add a strong attacker to the team.

Davies joined Bolton for nothing just over a year ago after being discarded by Southampton making a favourable impression during his first season at the Reebok Stadium scooping numerous player of the season awards and this has obviously attracted the attention of other clubs.

The 27=year old forward is out of contract next July and the Trotters will be keen to keep their first choice forward with Spurs already said to be preparing a bid of around half a million to try and lure the Sheffield-born striker back to the South of England.

Bolton are set to fight hard to keep the rejuvanated forward in the North West but resisting bids in January could mean that the club lose his services for nothing should he decide to move on in the summer.
