The 27-year old striker felt a twinge prior to the half time interval and was replaced by youngster Ricardo Vaz-Te midway through the second period. It is not yet sure how long the former Blackburn Rovers and Southampton star will be ruled out for.
"Kevin felt his hamstring tightening up at half time, He couldn't continue for the rest of the game and had to be substituted midway through the second half. He won't play at Birmingham on Tuesday and at this stage it is too early to suggest how long he may be out." Bolton manager Sam Allardyce confirmed.
"Kevin has been a shining example of commitment during this lean period for the Club and it is disappointing that he has picked up an injury." he added
Ricardo Vaz-Te and Henrik Pedersen are both vying to replace the current Bolton player of the year for the trip to St Andrews.
