Bolton striker Kevin Davies is convinced he could do a better job as England target man than Peter Crouch.
Bolton are once again riding high in the Premiership this season and the 28-year-old believes his credentials are as good as those of Crouch.
"I feel I can do that job the same, if not better than Peter Crouch," he said.
"If England are playing Crouch, they are obviously looking to play the way we do at Bolton sometimes.
"I would love a cap and I used to think my time would come, but I honestly don't think that will happen now - it would probably take about seven or eight injuries.
"Peter is a young lad and has got his chance, so good luck to him. It is not something I think about too much anymore."
