Bolton Wanderers defender Anthony Barness is the latest name on the treatment table after suffering a medial ligament injury in training last week.
The experienced full back has found chances limited in the Bolton first team this season but had hoped to be involved in yesterday's FA Cup tie away at Ipswich Town.
It is not yet clear how long the former Charlton Athletic and Chelsea player will be out of action for but Sam Allardyce knows he can ill afford to have any new injury problems having also lost Julio Cesar and Kevin Davies in recent weeks.
