The club have opened negotiations with the Swede about a new deal, knowing he could be in demand when the transfer window opens next month.
Elmander is enjoying a purple patch and has scored eight goals after a poor start to life at the Reebok Stadium.
He told the Bolton News: "I will give myself fully to Bolton while I am here and when my contract runs out in the summer, we will see what happens.
"I have never been a player who goes after money. I have always chosen with my heart and the feeling I have in the pit of my stomach."
