Elmander revival delights Coyle

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has heaped praise on Johan Elmander for the way the striker has turned his Trotters career around. The Swede arrived at the Reebok Stadium in the summer of 2008 in a £10million deal from Toulouse but struggled to live up to his price tag, netting only five goals in each of his first two seasons in England. This term has been a different story, though, and, by scoring the equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wigan at the DW Stadium, Elmander has already equalled that tally. Coyle said: "I'm thrilled for him because he had a very good start (to the season) and people were obviously giving him praise, but he's continuing that, and that's very pleasing. "He's a joy to work with, and to see somebody come through the other side after being panned every week speaks volumes for him, not only as a footballer, but as a man - the mental belief he's shown to see himself through that. "If I played a small part in that then I'm delighted but ultimately the person that deserves all the credit for that is Johan Elmander."
