Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Michael Johansen has linked up with Stoke City for a trial period which will see him given a chance to earn a contract on the Potteries club's tour of Belgium.
The 31-year old former Wanderers crowd favourite is currently contracted with AB Copenhagen in his homeland but City boss Tony Pulis has expressed a desire to bring the former Danish international back to these shores where he previously had a succesful four year stint with Bolton during which time he won a Division 1 Championship medal in 1997.
Johansen came to England in 1996 from FC Copenhagen along with current player Per Frandsen and the two where instrumental in the Bolton midfield as the club marched to the Division 1 title. However after four seasons he returned home to AB under the Bosman ruling in the summer of 2000 after nearly 150 games for the Super Whites.
Meanwhile another ex-Wanderer in Gaetano Giallanza is hoping to earn himself a contract with Brighton after Seagulls boss Steve Coppull showed an interest in the former Trotters loanee, who was more recently with Norwich City.
