Khalilou Fadiga has been ruled out for three weeks after sustaining a knee injury in training.
The former Inter Milan winger will now be sidelined for the first game of the season against Aston Villa on August 13th and will not be back in action until September.
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce expressed his disappointment about the news on Wednesday.
"The injury will take two or three weeks to clear up. That is really disappointing." he said.
