Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has singled out Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye for praise before he sees his side take on Spurs at the Reebok tonight in an 8pm kick off.
"He is a monster of a player, never mind a monster of a man," the Wanderers boss said of the Senegal international he took on loan from Lens in the summer.
"He's got every attribute to be a very, very good Premiership player indeed.
"He's in fantastic physical condition, and although people think he's not very quick, he moves across the ground like lightning. His reading of the game, his heading ability and the way he breaks up dangerous situations are enormous, and his touch and passing ability is very good."
"I wouldn't put him down as a cutting edge passer," the manager says, acknowledging the fact that, for all his versatility, he could never assume the role of playmaker. "But he gets the ball down and retains possession, and for us to have got him here and for him to be playing so well is a major bonus.
"While people might look a little bit more into Hide Nakata's skills and his talents, which stand out a little bit more, from the professional eye like mine, this man is making an enormous contribution."
Meanwhile, Phil Gartside, is confident of resolving a bonus payment mix up with the players after there was no provision for UEFA Cup success built into their contracts.
"It was just an oversight," Gartside told the Bolton Evening News. "We didn't put anything in the contracts and they didn't pick up on it, but there's no aggravation.
"The rules are that you can't pay bonuses that have no been agreed in advance, but there are ways round it, when there's been a genuine mistake.
"It's not really an issue and it's something we can easily resolve with the players."
