Bolton boss Sam Allardyce, already facing an FA rap for comments made about the Merseyside official immediately after the game said: "The referee has had a second look and completely refused to change his mind.
"So Mr Foy is the only one in the world of football that still thinks Ricardo Gardner should be suspended.
"Unfortunately if they (referees) are not big enough to admit their mistakes, we are running dangerously close to not getting what we expect from a professional body."
