Goal! is about a young Mexican called Santiago who has grown up in Los Angeles. He is spotted showing some silky skills for his local team by a talent scout and is given the opportunity to travel to England for a trial with Newcastle United. Thousands of miles away from home, he has to struggle against the wet and muddy English Winter as well as have ‘lumps kicked out of him’ by his fellow trialists in order to prove he is worthy of a contract.
It includes appearances from some actual Premiership and European football stars such as Shearer, Beckham and Zidane as well as exceptional live footage.
