Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce says he has no regrets over turning down the Newcastle United job last season.
Bolton play Newcastle on Wednesday, with Allardyce believing he was right to stay in his current position after leading The Trotters to a Uefa Cup place this term.
"As far as the Newcastle job was concerned, I just made the decision I felt was right for me at the time," said Allardyce.
"As proud and honoured as I was to be involved with a club of that magnitude, I felt I had to do it here before I could even think of leaving.
"And I did it by taking Bolton into Europe. That fully vindicated my decision to turn away from such a massive club."
