She records every game at home in Houston, Texas then gives her son a rating over the phone on his performance.
Holden 25, will get the information first hand on Saturday as his mum will be in the stand when Bolton face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Holden said: "There is a lot of Premier League coverage in America and my mum records every game.
"She gives me her take after every match on how I have played. I take bits of it on board! She is an avid football fan and obviously an avid fan of her three children.
"It is fantastic she is actually is coming over for the Arsenal game. Hopefully we will get a victory."
Holding is aiming to retain his place in the side in this his first full season at the Reebok Stadium after a short spell at Sunderland earlier in his career.
The United States international then went on to build a fine reputation in Major League Soccer before deciding to try his luck in England again.
Holden, who secured a contract at Bolton after a trial, said: "It was a bit stop start for me last season and I was injured.
"Now I have had a pre-season and the experience of the World Cup I want to make a big impact at Bolton.
"I am feeling 100 per cent physically and really looking forward to building up my fitness, getting some more games and really pushing on."
While Holden admires Arsenal's style he believes Bolton can continue their good start to the campaign.
"They are team of internationals, a team that likes to pass the ball, a team that likes to attack but we have got to focus on ourselves," he said.
"If we go about it in the way the manager wants us to we can give them a good game. We are not going there to lie down and take a beating.
"We have a number of experienced players who have played in big games so I do not think we will be daunted by taking on Arsenal."
Owen Coyle will hand a first league start to Adam Bogdan in the absence of the suspended Jussi Jaaskelainen against Arsenal and the Whites boss is is convinced the Hungarian will rise to the challenge.
"I am sure Adam is excited and what he has to do is believe in himself as I believe in him," said Coyle. "I am sure he will show people what a very good goalkeeper he is."
Bogdan admits that he was so tired after training when he first arrived he would take to his bed.
He said: "I would train in the morning and would be so tired and aching in the afternoon that all I could do was lie on my bed.
"Before I came to England I always felt that I could come and claim every cross. But I had to learn which to come for and which not to because there were times when I would get smashed to the floor."
