Steve Howey could be set to continue his footballing career in America after the MLS club New England Revolution claimed they had held talks with the former England international about a move to the States.
The 32-year old centre half left Bolton Wanderers at the end of last season after being told his short term contract would not be renewed. Sunderland-born Howey joined Bolton from Leicester City on a Free Transfer in February but was unable to dispossess the first choice defensive pairing of Bruno N'Gotty and Emerson Thome making just three appearances during his short stay with the club.
Howey has a wealth of experience in England having played over 300 games for Newcastle United, Manchester City, Leicester City and Bolton and could prove to be an excellent addition to the Revolution team.
