Donovan Ricketts - returns to Village United
The Bolton Evening News have confirmed that Jamaican international goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts has returned to his club Village United after the Trotters where unable to agree terms with the 27-year old shot stopper.

Ricketts joined Bolton on a six month loan deal during the January transfer window and impressive displays during the club's training sessions where thought to have lead to a permanent £300,000 offer being put to the Kingston based club Village to enable the player to move permanently to England.

However it now seems that this offer has been withdrawn to save money as manager Sam Allardyce tries desperately to recruit new blood in time for the new season having missed out on a number of potential targets.

There is better news concerning the future of fellow goalkeeper Kevin Poole who looks set to extend his current Bolton contract by a further year which will take him past his 41st birthday to make him one of the oldest professionals ever to play for the club with only Ted Vizard and Peter Shilton being older.
