Knight delight at captaincy

Bolton defender Zat Knight was delighted to be handed the responsibility of captaining the side for Saturday's FA Cup victory over York.

With regular skipper Kevin Davies starting on the bench, Knight was given the armband for the third-round tie at the Reebok Stadium.

The 30-year-old was more than happy to assume the role, which he felt was made easier by the professionalism of his team-mates. "I really enjoyed skippering the side and it was nice to take over from Kevin Davies for the day," Knight told www.bwfc.co.uk after Wanderers had run out 2-0 winners against their Blue Square Premier opponents. "I was club captain at Fulham so I know what the role is all about - you have to lead by example. "It was made easier because everybody in the dressing room is professional and they know their responsibilities, but you do have to try and be a bit vocal on the pitch and offer encouragement."
