Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has decided against signing Croatian centre half Marijan Kovacevic after the 31-year old spent the past week on trial with the club.
Kovacevic came to the club along with Serbian Zoran Mirkovic following the injury to Florent Laville but neither have impressed the Bolton boss sufficiently to be offered new deals and now the Bolton boss will continue the long search for a quality out of contract centre half who would be an able replacement for former Lyon defender Laville who is missing for six months.
Kovacevic has played in Germany with MSV Duisburg and also with SV Hamburg, his latest club was in Greece but he left there after just one season. The search will continue but it's expected that the club might have to stick with what they have after Simon Charlton's impressive display in the middle of defence during last weekends draw with Newcastle United.
