Leeds snap up OBrien from Bolton

Leeds United have beaten Cardiff to the signing of Bolton Wanderers centre-back Andy O'Brien on a two-and-a-half year deal after a successful loan spell.The 31-year-old former Republic of Ireland defender, who was out of contract in the summer, played nine times for Leeds, scoring once.

Leeds have not confirmed whether they have to pay a transfer fee.

Chairman Ken Bates told the club website: "Despite a tempting offer from Cardiff, he has agreed to join us."
