Hidetoshi Nakata says he is delighted to be joining Bolton Wanderers and plying his trade in The Premiership.
"It's The Premiership and I have been wanting to play here for a couple of years," declared Nakata. "I got a chance to play in England and I played against Leeds and Liverpool in the Uefa Cup.
"I like the atmosphere in the stadiums, the people and the fans.
"Unfortunately, I couldn't get to see the matches a lot when I was in Italy but, maybe, after seven years in Italy it's very nice to play in England and especially in Bolton.
"They have been doing very well for the last couple of years and this year they will also play in the Uefa Cup, which is very important for the club and also for me as well.
"I am very happy to be here, to be a member of Wanderers, and I look forward to playing as soon as possible."
Allardyce was pleased to boost his numbers ahead of what could be an exciting campaign.
"He's had a full pre-season with Fiorentina and should be there or thereabouts sooner rather than later," said the Bolton boss.
"We haven't got the strongest squad which means our players have more opportunity to play here than anywhere else in The Premiership.
"So he should be appearing soon and can get used to the pace of The Premiership and use his technique and skills, that we all know he's got, to be a big player with us."
