Newcastle United defender Robbie Elliott has warned of the threat that his former club Bolton pose when they visit St James Park for this weekend's Premiership clash.
The 29-year old former Wanderers player, who made just under 100 appearances for the club between 1997 and 2001 says his old team will be trying to capitalise on the Magpies recent dip in form and will be hoping for a decent result against the Toon Army.
"Knowing Sam as I do, he'll be relishing the opportunity of coming here when things aren't going so well" he said of his former gaffer Sam Allardyce.
"It won't be easy and if they can keep us quiet for the first few minutes then they will know the pressure will be on"
"It's a match which Newcastle should win at home, but these are the games which can come back to haunt you. I hope that doesn't happen this weekend" he told bwfc.co.uk
Elliott however is once again expected to watch the clash from the sidelines having been transfer listed by his hometown club over the summer. Both West Ham United and Nottingham Forest where linked with loan moves for the former England U21 international
