Bolton Wanderers were keen to sign Besiktas fullback Juanfran on a season-long loan but manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that the deal is dead due to the player not agreeing personal terms.
It has now emerged that Dutch giants Ajax have also been offered the 29-year-old.
"He is one of the left backs which we have been offered," Ajax technical director Martin van Geel said.
"We are still in the phase where we are looking and searching. He is on our list, nothing more, nothing less."
