Bolton Wanderers youngster Joey O'Brien wants more European action after impressing at Besiktas last week.
"I've done okay in a few games but that was my best performance," he said, "and I can build on it. I think I've given the gaffer another option in midfield and I hope he gives me a chance to take it.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce said: "For a young man, he did an excellent job.
"We threw him into the melting pot and that's not easy, even for the more experienced players, who have played in Europe.
"He coped manfully, though, and did his job exceptionally well."
Meanwhile, Bolton defender Tal Ben-Haim says he wants to improve in every game he plays for Bolton.
"When I first arrived, the manager told me I needed to work hard until I got a chance," said Ben Haim.
"Now I am starting to play on a regular basis but I know I need to improve in every game.
"That will help me and help the team get the result they want.
"Being the captain of Israel is a great honour and it was also special to lead out the Bolton team."
