Last week the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce voiced his concern at the lack of movement in the market having failed to land a number of potential targets but the Wanderers chairman Gartside beleives it is only a matter of time before the transfer market becomes a buyers market again enabling clubs to entice the right kind of player to their clubs.
"We're disappointed we haven't landed any of the players who were high on our list but it hasn't been for the want of trying. There are one or two more we are looking at and reality is slowly beginning to creep in with players." Gartside told the Manchester Evening News
The Trotters cheif beleives that patience is the key to success and the lure of the Premiership will enable the club to bring in the players they need
"We've got to be patient though. Gradually it will become a buyers' market and, because we are in the Premiership, players will want to sign."
In previous years Sam Allardyce has been known to be a late mover on the transfer front. Last summer he managed to secure the permanent transfers of loanees Ivan Campo and Florent Laville relatively early on whilst Kevin Davies followed soonafter. Mario Jardel, Ibrahim Ba, Glen Little and Emerson Thome where all signed in the final fortnight of August with the season already underway.
