The 29-year old was overlooked by coach Morten Olsen for the recent European Championship campaign in Portugal but the retirement of Ebbe Sand from the international scene has opened a door for Pedersen to be involved in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers which will take place in September.
Pedersen hit a rich vein of form for Bolton in the final matches of last season scoring four goals in the last nine games which took the Trotters to their best ever finish in over four decades.
The former Silkeborg man told the Danish newspaper BT that he hopes to be given a chance to stake a claim soon.
"If I can continue the good work from last season, I believe in it,"
"To play for the national team is the biggest thing for a footballer and my chance will surely come - if I continue to score I can play all three positions in attack, that's no problem.
"Peter Madsen is not playing a pure striker role at VFL Bochum either and he is in the squad. Therefore, there should be space for me too."
