Pedersen: 'We Can Stop Chelsea'

Henrik Pedersen feels the perfect remedy to help Bolton recover from their defeat to Wigan is victory over Chelsea.

"With all the players going away on international duty it will make it difficult for us to regroup, but what better game for us to bounce back than against Chelsea," said Pedersen.

"Obviously it won't be the easiest game because they have so many good players and they are such a good team, but it will be a great opportunity to hit back.

"Everybody will expect them to beat us, which means we can be the underdogs and we can play without fear.

"I'm not saying we are a better team when we are underdogs, but sometimes it is easier to play when nobody expects you to win because you play without that fear.

"Sometimes if you are expected to win it can all get a little bit hectic and you can over-complicate things at times.

"They might not have lost yet, but it is such a long season and there is still time for them to go into a dip and be caught."

"It was a surprise to get beaten after our recent run because we had been playing so well," added Pedersen.

"But we gave them a couple of goals because of mistakes we made. They were definitely uncharacteristic, although everybody makes them from time to time.

"Bruno, in particular, has not made a mistake for a very long time, so you can't say anything about it because he has saved us so many times in the past.

"He's had no need to apologise because we all know what kind of player he is.

"But even after going 2-0 down we created so many chances that we should have finished the game off. We were unlucky we didn't put some of them away."

"We can't blame tiredness because we showed in the last 20 minutes we were full of energy," insisted Pedersen.

"We're all fit and we should be able to play two or three games a week, so it was not a problem."
