Danish midfielder Per Frandsen fears that his career may be over after picking up a serious knee ligament injury whilst playing for new club Wigan Athletic last weekend.
The 34-year old former Bolton Wanderers favourite was stretchered off during the Latics demolition of Championship rivals Sheffield United last weekend and post game medical tests have shown that the player will require more than one operation on the injury which has prematurely ended his season.
Frandsen admitted to Ritzau that things were looking bleak with regards to his future in football but refused to close the door completely on the game stating that he might be able to manage a comeback.
"I think that the career is over, The game on Saturday was probably my last, however I might manage to play a final game for Wigan at some time." he said
