"Big Sam has the ability, personality, knowledge and experience to be England's manager," said Stelios. "He also knows English football like his own life. He has transformed this club.
"It gets bigger and better every season which is why I was happy to stay here when City and Liverpool wanted me.
"I would be happy if he becomes England manager, provided it's part-time! Our coach Sammy Lee does that and I wouldn't have a problem with it."
Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan added: "Nobody here would begrudge him the chance because he deserves it. But we hope it doesn't happen because we want him to finish the job at Bolton."
